Building Department

This is the time of year when South Frontenac residents are starting to think about their building projects for the upcoming year.  We would like all ratepayers to be aware that a Building Permit is required for all structures attached or detached that are over 10 sq. meters or 108 sq. ft.  This includes pools & deck replacement.  Please note, that all building projects no matter what size must meet the setback requirements set out by the Township Zoning By-law.  If you are uncertain about these requirements, please call the Building Department to discuss it with us before you build.

Pools:  All pools that are capable of holding 18 inches of water (this includes the blue inflatable ones) require a building permit.   Anyone failing to meet the requirements of the Pool By-law 2002-97 shall pay a penalty of not less that $300 for each offence.

A Demolition Permit is required before any building is removed or torn down.
