For recycling collection and garbage disposal services offered at the Bedford District Waste Disposal Sites please be advised of the following:

All Sites are equipped with four recycling bins. Please ensure that your recycling items are separated according to the instructions provided on each of the bins listed below. Contamination may cause our recycled material to be rejected by the recycling facility.

Cardboard only (please flatten)

Newspaper, Boxboard, Magazines, Catalogues, Plastic Bags

Glass Bottles (both clear and coloured) no window glass or mirrors please

Aluminum Cans, Block Styrofoam and Plastic Containers (no #3 and #7 plastics)

Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners will no longer be accepted, however they may be taken to Thake Refrigeration located in Westport at 24 Bedford St.

Salem and Bradshaw are the only dumps that take scrap metal, shingles and building material.

Green Bay and Massassauga sites accept household garbage only.
